This Ethical Code intends to offer guidelines and values to lead the activities of the shopkeepers, in order to promote and improve tourism both in the local context of the district and in the urban one. Respect of the tourist and of his rights contributes to improve the local image and – together with that – the economy of the area.

  1. The offer of the commercial activities has to keep a quality standard, able to improve the image of the whole district: services have to respect standards of professionalism which can ensure respect for the tourist and for the customer in general.
  2. In addition to the quality standard of the offer, the products’ quality should be guaranteed by the certification of their origin.
  3. Prices offered to the public have to respect the transparency, avoiding disparity of treatment. Their display – as well as the possible claims for clarification - must be encouraged.
  4. Price politics – even if free – should meet market demands, without differing too much from them, in order to guarantee not only the competitiveness, but also the transparency.
  5. The hospitality given to the visitor is a key point to ensure the successful meeting between the tourist and the visited place: guaranteeing this value (which is typical of our country) is a significant element to make our visitors’ stay pleasant and to help their future return.
  6. Customer care, management of possible lacks in the supplied services and in general spontaneous assistance to the visitor have to be spread and encouraged, in order to promote hospitality.
  7. Meeting a different culture is not an experience that only visitor can join: also the host can enjoy the exciting meeting with cultural and linguistic differences. Respect, comprehension and promotion of the other’s values and culture, and also the acceptance of diversity represent a fundamental value to promote not only the tourism, but also our own cultural growth.
  8. Together with the acceptance of tourist diversity, local environment has to promote itself and the uniqueness of its offer: keeping local traditions, promoting traditional gastronomy and celebrating artistic heritage are essential factors to enhance the diversity of every local culture.
  9. In order to promote the economy and the cultural uniqueness of the local areas, shopkeepers who subscribe this Ethical Code should encourage interaction between local commercial activities of the same market sector.
  10. By their side, visitors have to respect local traditions and culture: their enhancement will surely be a source of personal enrichment. They have to keep up the proprieties in the hosting areas, in order to respect other visitors and locals.
