PIAZZA DEL QUIRINALE

The name comes from the temple situated on the top of the hill and dedicated to god Quirino. The splendid square is one of the most beautiful of Rome, it is surrounded by three buildings and it's covered, on the left side, by a large balcony which offers a wonderful overview.

During the Middle Age it was called Monte Cavallo from the marble horses which, at present, adorns the square. (cavallo means"horse".)
